November 2017 : Cambridge LL.B

Cambridge LLB
Institution : The University of Cambridge

Award : Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)

Description : Light cherry silk, half-lined and the cape bound 1" white fur.

Shape : Cambridge [f1]

This hood was introduced in the 1934 revision; previously the LL.B had worn the BA hood. It is made of the pink silk (which the University calls 'light cherry') which lines the LL.D hood, and is half-lined and bound fur. The original suggestion was to have a hood of black lined with pink, and the cape bound fur, but Franklyn's influence resulted in adopting this one, based on the MusB hood. The degree was withdrawn in 1982, so the hood has been obsolescent for some years.
